Yasodhara’s Castle

SKU: GS-308
Dimensions 23 × 41 in

MEDIUM: Acrylic on canvas

Gautama had gone, and so had Krishna. Sitting lonely in her castle, Yasodhara lamented the men that had left her. She lamented her life and then rejoiced at the possibilities that lay beyond her. Women drew her, fed her, bathed her, scented her, and dressed her. Women surrounded her. The woman decides. In the castle of freedom, unbound by the prophets that claimed her, unbound by the walls that contained her. Yasodhara lived far and beyond what was expected of her.
